Just as we humans have seven main chakras running the length of our bodies, Mother Earth also has seven main chakras. At this particular time, with the pandemic of Coronavirus focusing many people’s attention on the way we as a race have been treating the planet, and the damage we have inflicted upon her with regard to the polluting of her waters and atmosphere, it seems to be the right time to raise awareness of the potential for healing both ourselves and our home through chakra work.
The Earth’s chakras are energy vortexus, similar to the chakras of the body, and they hold a specific kind of energy that is dispersed around the body of the earth in different ways. Ley lines are channels, similar to the meridians of the human body which connect with each other and intersect in various places. Interestingly, the Earth is surrounded by a web of these energy lines and one cannot help but wonder if our virtual connections, via the World Wide Web, are in some way a derivative of this ancient wisdom and knowledge. The Earth also carries underground connections that are only now being extensively researched and discovered in studies of what has been dubbed the World Wide Web. Given that synchronicity and connections of all kinds are far more probable than coincidence it is possible that Mother Earth never gives up on trying to get our attention.
The Base or Root Chakra
In humans, the base chakra governs our stability both physical and emotional. It is the chakra that connects us most closely to the material world, the energies of the planet, and the center of the Earth. It needs to be in balance, with free-flowing energy in order for us to feel safe, to be confident that our financial and material needs will be met and to feel strong, stable and grounded in our own truths and beliefs. It is located at the base of the spine and is traditionally associated with the color red.
The base chakra of Earth is located at Mount Shasta, California, USA. It is an active volcano and the region is well known for its natural beauty and the abundance of spiritual energy to be found there. This chakra acts as a powerful geyser for the transmission of energy upwards from the earth and is believed to be aligned with the rising Kundalini energy that symbolizes pure vitality.
Native American tribes have long held, in their lore and legend, that this place constitutes the center of the universe, and could even be the birthplace of the creator. It is here that the Universal Energy or Life Force is gathered before being formed into all life on earth. The outpouring of prana to the entire planet originates here.
Archangel Gabriel and his twin flame Hope are believed to have their retreat above the beautiful Cascade Mountains and the base chakra of the world. If you wish to work on healing your own base chakra you can visit this retreat during meditation to ask for guidance from Gabriel.
The Sacral Chakra
This chakra governs our sensuality, sexuality, and ability to engage fully with the joy of life. When it is out of kilter or blocked in some way we tend to feel depleted emotionally and closed off from others. We also suffer from a lack of creativity and consequently tend to become pessimistic in our outlook.
The sacral chakra of the earth is located at Lake Titicaca, Peru, and Bolivia. The ley line, or energetic current known as the Plumed Serpent carries the life force generated by Mt Shasta to Lake Titicaca where positive life forms are birthed. It is believed that evolutionary advancements are brought into being here. The great circle of the sacral chakra of the earth also encompasses Cuzco and Machu Picchu.
Lake Titicaca is home to the Island of the Sun, once home to the Incas who considered the lake to be sacred. The lake and the Island are believed to embody the perfect balance of masculine and feminine energies and thus to govern the interplay of male and female energies in the earth itself.
Archangel Chamuel is believed to have his etheric retreat above Lake Titicaca and you can visit him through dreams or meditation in order to work on your own spiritual development and to gain answers to any questions you may have regarding your life purpose. Archangel Uriel is also closely aligned with this chakra and will bring wisdom and insights if you call upon him.
Solar Plexus Chakra
In the human body, the Solar Plexus chakra is located just below the breastbone in the center of the torso. It has strong associations with the color yellow, on the third dimension at least, and regulates our emotions as we interact with the world and connect with others. It is also the seat of our intuition and helps us to maintain our integrity. It is often called the “house of the soul”. When it is working properly, with free-flowing energy we feel enthusiastic and inspired, confident and assured in all aspects of our lives. We are able to make decisions quickly and to take action where required.
The earth chakra of the solar plexus is located in Australia in the twin rock formations of Uluru, or Ayres Rock, and Kata Tjuta. The solar plexus of the globe is responsible for keeping up the vitality of the world, of all life on the planet and all the species that inhabit it. In Dream time legends of the Aborigines, it is believed that the umbilical cord that will eventually unite heaven and earth emerges from beneath the earth at Uluru. It “sings” a special song that is then transmitted along the great ley artery of the rainbow serpent to all the peoples of the earth.
The archangel most closely aligned with the Solar Plexus Chakra is Uriel, who is believed to reside in the etheric above these twin rocks. Call upon Uriel when you feel fear or anxiety inhibiting your actions or thoughts.
Heart Chakra
Glastonbury and Shaftesbury in the south of England are believed to be amongst the most spiritual locations on earth. These two towns are home the Heart chakra of the planet and are steeped in legends, from the stories of King Arthur to the journeys of Joseph of Arimathea. Our heart chakras are where we heal from both spiritually and emotionally. The heart chakra is the center of love, forgiveness, and compassion and when it is healthy and in balance, we are able to see the good in everyone.
In terms of earth chakras, the Heart is a dual chakra, with Glastonbury being aligned with love and Shaftesbury with will. According to many, the earth’s heart chakra also encompasses nearby Stonehenge and the equally powerful but lesser-known stone circle at Avebury. The area itself carries an almost palpable vibration of peace and love that can be felt by even the most skeptical of visitors. It is interesting to note that, whilst Glastonbury and Shaftesbury are the most commonly acknowledged locations for the heart chakra, some people also maintain that the volcano of Haleakala in Hawaii may also be seen at holding the earth’s heart chakra energy. This is because the energy of the volcano gives off the same vibrational frequency as the human heart. The etheric above Glastonbury is said to provide the retreat for many Archangels, including Jophiel, Chamuel, Raphael, and Haniel.
Throat Chakra
The throat chakra governs our ability to communicate verbally and is responsible for supporting us when we speak our own truths. It needs to be healthy and in balance, if we are to maintain clear boundaries with others and communicate openly with integrity. The color most often associated with this chakra is light blue. Many people like to wear necklaces of blue stones to help to maintain the health of this chakra.
On earth, this chakra is located in a combination of three different sites: the pyramid of Giza, Egypt, Mount Sinai, Egypt, Mount of Olives, Jerusalem. If you connect all three locations on a map you find an almost perfect triangle.
Unfortunately, this region of the earth has suffered prolonged periods of turmoil and unrest, leading some to conclude that the voice of the earth is crying out for help, also known as the “cries of the Mother”
The Archangel associated with the throat chakra is Michael and he has his retreat in the etheric above this region. Michael is the sword and the shield and offers powerful protection if you call upon him. Healing this chakra in the /earth’s chakra system could go a long way towards healing disharmony that exists between peoples of different faiths, cultures, and beliefs.
Third Eye Chakra
The planet’s “third eye” is moveable, believed to align with the dawning of new Ages. At present we are in the Age of Aquarius, which is in conjunction with the Heart. Hence, the location of the earth’s third eye chakra is at Glastonbury. When we move into the next astrological age, which is Capricorn, the planet’s third eye is expected to move to Brazil. This chakra opens the earth up higher dimensional energies and has a deep blue or indigo color vibration. Archangel Michael also governs this chakra, along with the throat.
This chakra is responsible for our abilities to see clearly, by which we mean to see reality as we believe it to be for us. If we are clouded in our thinking we may experience a disturbance in this area, between our physical eyes and also in our thought processes. When it is in a healthy state we can bring together both logical thinking and intuition in order to make the best decisions we can.
The Third Eye chakra is also responsible for our spiritual connections with our guides and messengers from the Higher realms. Sometimes, we feel the need to cleanse and clear this chakra before attempting to reach out into the Universe for help and support. At other times, we may make the decision to open the chakra through meditation and embark upon a spiritual journey to bring us closer to the Angelic realms and the Source of All That Is.
This is also true for the Third Eye Chakra of planet earth. The earth sends out requests for healing just as we do, and by supporting her with our own healing vibrations directed towards both the Heart and the Third Eye we can accelerate the ascension process of the entire planet, for the good of all. From the Heart and Third Eye Mother Gaia is able to send healing frequencies and vibrations along the energy pathways, or ley lines as we often call them, all around the globe. If you are lucky enough to make the trip to Glastonbury and stand upon the Tor you may feel the immense waves of energy emanating from the landscape. This energy is very masculine in nature and it is a wonderful idea to also visit the Chalice Well where the energy is very feminine and nurturing.
Crown Chakra
The location of this chakra on earth is Mount Kailash, Tibet. This mountain is almost 22,000 feet high and is considered to be the most sacred mountain in the Himalayan Range.
In human terms, the crown chakra provides our connection to the higher realms, whether this be the wonders of the cosmos or the vibrations of the angelic realms and beyond. The power of the crown chakra, both in terms of humanity and of the planet, lies in its spirituality. Mount Kailash serves as a portal, or connector for the earth and the heavens. It is a spectacularly beautiful site physically, and its grandeur reflects its spiritual power and sacred qualities.
The color associated with the Crown Chakra is pure white or pale violet. The Archangels most often called upon when working with this Chakra are Gabriel and Metatron, although Michael and Uriel can also bring specific knowledge and insights if you wish to work with them. In terms of healing and supporting the planet spiritually we can work with the Crown Chakra of the earth through meditation and focused collective energy transmissions. We can hold the intention of raising the vibration of the planet in this way in order to bring harmony and order on the spiritual planes if we open ourselves up, through our Crown and Stellar Gateway chakras, to the benign wisdom of the cosmos.
