What is the Tarot Life Coaching?

When people talk about consulting “The Tarot” they are actually describing the act of reading or interpreting messages from an Oracle. An Oracle can be a person who receives signs and information from the Divine, such as the priestesses of the Oracle of Delphi in Greek Mythology, or the term can be used to describe the tool used in divination. When a person uses an Oracle, which can be a deck of cards, a set of runes, or the I-Ching for example, they interpret synchronicities and meaningful co-incidences in order to answer questions and to give guidance in a flexible and open-ended way. In this way, the use of Oracle cards differs only slightly from the use of Tarot because it uses a specific symbolic system that allows the information to be accessed by the querent (the person who is asking the question) regardless of the topic or subject the person is inquiring about. The Tarot is more fixed in its structure and has a strong tradition and is meant to be reliable and specific in its symbolism. In order to be called Tarot, the deck must have 78 cards which will be split into 22 major arcana cards and 56 minor arcana cards. The major arcana cards relate to our spiritual experiences and lessons and the minor arcana cards relate to our situations, life experiences, and characteristics. The history of the Tarot begins back in the 15^th Century in Italy and has some specific traditional spreads associated with it, such as the Celtic Cross or the horseshoe spreads which have been in use for centuries. The original designs of the decks reflected the times in which they were produced, so many decks still carry medieval imagery, although there are many beautiful contemporary Tarot decks available now. The symbolism of each card, however, remains the same.
